A Kilimanjaro climb is built on the backs of porters. They carry the tents, the food, the cooking fuel, the toilet, the water — everything that makes a private camp possible at 4,700 metres.
We are partnered with the Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project (KPAP). This means our porters carry no more than 20 kg, are paid not less than the recommended day rate, and are clothed against the cold.
We publish the wage ledger on this site. Tips are encouraged but never required, and they are pooled and divided by the team themselves at the end of the climb.
