Booking policy. No fine print.
The terms below apply to all Kilimanjaro climbs and Tanzania safaris booked with Ascend Tanzania Ltd. We've kept them human-readable on purpose.
Reservation
A 25% deposit confirms your booking. Full balance is due 60 days before your climb or safari start date. We accept bank transfer, all major cards, and crypto.
100% Refundable Deposits
Cancel for any reason up to 60 days before departure and your deposit is returned in full, no questions asked. We absorb the bank fees.
Cancellation Inside 60 Days
60–31 days: 50% refund of total cost. 30–15 days: 25% refund. 14 days or fewer: no refund. We strongly recommend trip cancellation insurance to cover this window.
Changes & Postponements
Changes (route, date, party size) made 60+ days out are free. Inside 60 days, a $150 administrative fee applies; new park-fee surcharges may apply if your new dates fall in a different season.
Force Majeure
Climbs cancelled due to government-mandated park closures, natural disaster, or pandemic restrictions are postponed at no cost or fully refunded at your election.
Insurance
Travel insurance covering trekking to 6,000m and emergency helicopter evacuation is required. We'll recommend providers.
Tipping
Tips are not included in the price but are customary and an important part of crew livelihoods. Our suggested rate is $300 per climber across the entire crew, distributed at a tipping ceremony on the final day.
Privacy
We share your details with our crew and partner lodges only. We never share your data with third parties for marketing.
